Indians Acquire Brent Lillibridge
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [July 24 at 2:17pm CST]

The Indians announced that they acquired Brent Lillibridge from the Red Sox for right-hander Jose De La Torre. The Indians transferred Lonnie Chisenhall to the 60-day disabled list to create roster space for Lillibridge, who was recently designated for assignment by Boston.

Indians acquired INF-OF Brent Lillibridge from the Red Sox for RHP Jose De La Torre.

Lillibridge, 28, is hitting just .165 (13-for-79) with one double, two RBI and seven stolen bases this season. But he'll add some versatility to the Indians' bench. He's expected to be added to the active roster on Wednesday.

I think I'd rather trade for Kevin Seitzer. Or just promote Jason Donald. I hope working out this big deal didn't distract Antonetti from doing his job.

We'll need to demote someone to make room for Lillibridge. Can anyone think of anyone on the current roster who we can spare?

Nothing like being stuck behind a rock and a hard place. No talent to rebuild! No talent to improve! Nasty stuff!

It's a beach watching affordable free agent talent being sucked up by other organization because we can't afford to put a worth while bid on the table. Frustrating to say the least. Yeah! I know! We're a small market team and can't afford to dance. Maybe we should be watching how Oakland has been operating their business lately. Maybe we can learn something !?!?!

We'll be his 3rd team in the first 100 games of the season. White Sox, Red Sox and Indians.

Maybe we hope he can help us pick up signs, or something......

Our kind of guy! He must have come pretty cheap !?!?! I hope De La Torre does not turn out to be a Tim Lincecum.
