Roneros couldn't git'r done. Two out basehit was all they could muster up. End of 9 Diablos 3 Roneros 3. From the series that Damaso Espino is having, it's tough to understand why the Indians dropped him. He looks like a very solid catcher to me. He's also having an awesome offensive series.

Danny Salazar hasn't appeared at all. I'm guessing he's back in Cleveland for the winter development program. That's the only reason I can think of as to why he's not pitching here. Too bad. Padres catching prospect Ali Solis had two hits, including an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning that helped the Tomateros rally for their second straight win. Sergio Gastelum delivered a walk-off single in the ninth for Culiacan, while Major League veteran Jorge Cantu went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer for the Naranjeros.

Former Minor Leaguer Adam Thomas struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning to record his 14th save and nail down the Cañeros' second straight win. Cardinals prospect Jermaine Curtis singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning for Los Mochis, while Rafael Diaz allowed one hit over four scoreless frames for Navojoa.

Padres prospect Matt Clark homered, drove in three runs, scored twice and fell a triple shy of the cycle to lead the Aguilas to their third consecutive win. Former Major Leaguer Oscar Robles also had three hits, including a solo homer, for Mexicali, while Carlos Valencia drilled a three-run shot in a losing cause.

Overall, Soto continues to pitch well in Puerto Rico and he looks to be 100% recovered from the left elbow neuritis which sidelined him for most of the regular season. He has now pitched in 11 games and has a nice 1.46 ERA and has allowed just 7 hits and has 12 strikeouts in 12.1 innings pitched. He has also been equally tough on lefties (.167 AVG, .452 OPS) and righties (.182 AVG, .561 OPS). If you were going to be critical of anything of him this offseason it is his 7 walks.

RONEROS CAMPEONES

A basehit by Max Ayarza hit gold in the twelfth episode for the Chiriqui and Veraguas Roneros 4 runs to 3 to beat the Devils of Azuero, to win the 2011 version of the League of Professional Baseball Panama in a game held at the stadium Omar Torrijos.

In the seventh the Devils tied the score when Daniel Gonzalez hit double to left field and Cory Harrilchak brought him home with a double.

The winners excelled at the plate with Paulo Orlando 5-4 with an RBI and Buck Britton 2-5 with a run scored and with the basehit by Max Ayarza for gold. For the defeated Andrew Lambo was 3-6 with two RBIs. The game was won by Gilberto Isaac and lost by Mendez Monroy.
