Re: Minor Matters

Will Brennan (RF): 1-4, 1 K - Brennan has alternated hitless and one-hit games to start an unexpected stint in the minor leagues. Would hardly be surprised if the demotion was unexpected as well as depressing. He'll need to get over it and earn his way back. Although the presence of Jones as anothe...

Re: Minor Matters

What appear to be actual rosters have been posted. Now Velezquez and Allard are on the Columbus roster. Messick, too, he's scheduled to start today No other notable adjustments through the rest of the system. Seasons open Friday; Doughty scheduled to open for Lynchburg; other starting pitchers not y...

Re: Minor Matters

Clippers were shut out yesterday; Dion started and was lifted after facing 6 batters, 2 runs, both unearned. Mason Hickman who really should be let go followed and managed 1 2/3 3 hits 3 walks. Walters pitched a perfect inning with 2 strikeouts. He shouldn't stay away from Cleveland for long if they...

Re: Minor Matters

We can expect based on last year's experience that Thomas will be really cold and really hot. We don't know how long either will last.

As for Jones, I hope you're right; I'm not expecting much; unfortunately yesterday he played down to and below my expectations, with 4 strikeouts in 4 at bats.

Re: GameTime!™

This is known as 2nd base without Giminez Xander Bogaerts, with the infield playing in, sent a bouncer to second baseman Gabriel Arias, who couldn’t decide what to do with the ball. He was going to throw home, but dropped the ball. Then he looked to third before finally throwing late to first. Tatis...

Re: GameTime!™

Great point Rusty. If his recovery continues without sebacks we should have 3 top notch starters for more than 1/2 the season. Lively is a perfect No. 5. maybe Allen will work out; perhaps Ortiz; It would be great for Giminez if he can return to a solid offensive contributor; add that to his magnifi...

Re: Minor Matters

One of the preseason writeups, I think Keith Law noted that. Noel for a former 1b/3B seems to be a better RF than JRod with an arm that's not much less effective. Then again Noel swings at everything which is an unlikely path to success. Recall that last Sept he hit 118/167/196 with no homers 3 walk...

Re: Just Baseball: Major League teams OTHER THAN the Tribe

Had been doing well until.... whatever happened yesterday... you must be referring to Sunday, let me check them one out...no I guess 6 runs in 2/3 inning isn't so good That came after Matthew Boyd's first start of the season: 5 shutout innings and for the opposing Dbacks, Josh Naylor with 2 singles ...

Re: GameTime!™

Noel and JRod back to back! a combined 0-6, Jose apparently is healthy, although he didn't triple so missed a cycle And Ortiz was precisely as ineffective as he was in spring training. No command of his pitches at all. 9 hits and 4 walks in 4 2/3 innings. Based on what he did last year for Pittsburg...

Re: GameTime!™

Padres host the Guardians, with a 4-0 record and a curious starting pitcher: Kyle Hart a 32 year old whose major league career consists of 4 ineffective games for the Red Sox in Covid-2020 season. at least in part due to injuries to several projected starters. He was 13-3 2.69 ERA in Korea last summ...

Re: Minor Matters

And evidently those rosters aren't accurate either. Since Parker Messick is scheduled to start for Columbus on Wednesday. The Clippers are opening the season with 4 lefties in their rotation.
And still no sign of Koby Allard, another lefty,
