Re: General Discussion

Cantillo made a list of 50 most improved players projected for the season and he's delivering as advertised.
Cecconi one bad, one good start.
Austin Hedges still a solid part time catcher.
Arias had a good start.

Mike Clevinger: the trade that just keeps on giving.

Re: GameTime!™

Romp past the Royals; Martinez homered; doubled; singled twice. Hoskins 3 doubles. Manzardo off the bench with a single-- small step in the right direction. Cantillo one earned run in 5 2/3. 9 strke outs He's looking really good. Team ERA and Team HR totals both near the top of the league. We're num...

Re: General Discussion

Manzardo was terrible in spring training and worse in the regular season. 2 singles in 30 at bats. As we know many good players need some return time to AAA on occasion. It sure worked for Jose; Rocchio last year benefited. Manzardo has 2 o;ptions. And we have Kayfus who could handle first for awhil...

Re: Minor Matters

Jake LaViolette is off to a remarkable start. Game 1: 4 at bats, 4 strikeouts. Game 2: 4 at bats, only 3 strikeouts; 1 fair ball hit. Chase Mobley debut in HillCity, Low A, was equally mermorable: 1/3 inning only 1 hit but 3 walks 2 hit batters Reliever cleared the bases so all 6 hitters scored; ERA...

Re: SPRING TRAINING 2017!

Meanwhile Kyle Manzardo has had a terrible spring with stats in Nolan Jones territory. I homer, many strikeouts. He's been hitting 6th or 7th lately. He came in with much more muscle but it hasn't helped. I recall one of our prospects about 10 years ago who showed up so muscle=-bound he couldn't rea...

Re: SPRING TRAINING 2017!

Valera remains out; it's been about 10 days; and games last only through next Tuesday. It looks more and more likely that he'll open as usual on the IL. One among Jones, Halpin and Fairchild will be the final OF. Gaddis is throwing but not yet in a game. He may well need some time on the IL too. Bul...

Re: SPRING TRAINING 2017!

Any injury for Valera could well keep him sidelined for weeks. Petey Halpin could step in for his roster spot. Schneemann's injury reveals that we're surprisingly somewhat short on middle infielders major league ready. Brito really should get more time in AAA but could step in for awhile. NonRoster ...

Re: GameTime!™

I have to hope that the non-hitless days by Jones and JRod on Friday don't boost their chances; Nolan doubled and walked; Rodriguez with a couple singles,he has no extra base hits in 30 appearances. I'm pretty sure he's a certainty to depart. Jones could get a reprieve if Valera remains out. Althoug...

Re: SPRING TRAINING 2017!

The article on Jones tried hard to put a positive spin on his efforts, but I'm afraid it's not convincing to anyone, including Fink and Vogt and really most importantly Jones himself who leads the team and perhaps the league in selfdoubt. "The once top-hitter in the league is in the same conver...
