Re: Articles

from the current MLB.com writer Early look at the Guardians' projected Opening Day roster He's entitled to his opinion, but I would be startled and disappointed if Angel Martinez doesn't make the opening day roster. Unlike most everyone else who plays the OF for this team he can hit right handed. Hi...

Re: Minor Matters

Baseball America posted 10 more prospects for each team. Here's their list of 31-40 for Cleveland, after they've noted our system is one of the deepest that means these guys may be decent prospects although rather low on the totem pole. e.g. No. 31 Gomez was No. 22 on the Mets' list before he was sw...

Re: Minor Matters

"One man's opinion" is pretty close to everyone else's. He's surprisingly low on Geano, who's No. 1 on Law's list and high on Fernandez who has a long long way to go. I agree Doughtly is very promising. Others expect Chourio to get back on pace after a weak 2025 but strong winter. All I ca...

"
Just Baseball’s Shaan Donohue predicted
" that Gavin Williams will sign 6 year $90M deal.

What inside info does Shaun have?
Perhaps I can make that prediction too. Well, I'd like it to happen but I think I know as much as Shaun.

Re: Minor Matters

All that depth means that if some of the top guys don't make it we have plenty of others who could break through.
Let's see if they can at last develop some of the numerous OF who make the prospect lists this year

Re: Minor Matters

That was Keith Law's top 20. He's usually a little more ecletic than this year. He's also hated DeLauter's swing. He's not at all a fan of guys with big swing and miss % so he's lower on Velazquez and Rosario than some others. No real surprises in his list. I understand why he puts Oakie so high: ve...

. Angel Genao, SS (No. 33 on the top 100) Height: 5-9 | Weight: 190 | Bats: B | Throws: R | Age: 22 Genao’s 2025 season started late as he sprained his right shoulder during an infield drill in spring training, then didn’t look like his 2024 self over the summer as he often seemed hesitant to swing ...

Re: Minor Matters

Aaron Davenport posted on his Instagram story this week that he had Tommy John surgery and will miss the 2026 season. The right hander out of Hawaii did get a spring training invite this year and is entering his age 26 season and a year away from minor league free agency. He saw a bit of a bump in c...

Zimmer was a lefty so he wouldn't fit the need, but he's done with baseball: Former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Bradley Zimmer has reportedly retired from professional baseball. He played in six seasons in the big leagues, but has not appeared in a big league game since 2022. Clint Frazier RH OF se...

Re: Just Baseball: Major League teams OTHER THAN the Tribe

There goes the last right handed hitting free agent OF. Now we know for certain that the Guardians are going just with their own. Then again they could pick up some unheralded uninteresting minorleague free agent to challenge Stuart Fairchild. AN DIEGO -- The Padres appear to have rounded out their ...
